WOMENS BADDIE OPEN!

WOMENS BADDIE OPEN!

Hey Bowling Baddies!!

Our first-ever Bowling Baddies event is officially in the books — and let me tell you, it was AMAZING! 💅🎳

We had an incredible group of women show up and show out. Between the high scores, fun, and nonstop good vibes, the energy was something special — the kind that can only be described as easy and flowy. So, let’s get into it!

Stepping Into the Fire 🔥

As first-time tournament directors, my fiancé and I honestly had no idea what to expect. We are competitive bowlers ourselves, we tried to prepare for everything, but figured the best way to learn was to just throw ourselves into the fire!

The entry fee for the event was $200, and while a few people prepaid, the cash flow on the day was intense! Let’s just say we learned a lot about what to do differently next time within the first 20 minutes of check-in. 😅

We also ran a Calcutta, where participants could bid on bowlers they thought might win — kind of like a betting auction. If your bowler won, you’d earn money from their performance. Bowlers could also buy themselves in case they wanted a shot at the prize pool — because who doesn’t want to double up on winnings?!

Game Two Hiccups 🙈

We hosted the event at a 16-lane center and tried to avoid making some bowlers hit both end pairs and some not, trying to keep it fair. We thought we had it all figured out the night before, but come Game 2… we were wrong. 😅

Thankfully, we quickly fixed the issue — and honestly, it went smoothly not because of us, but because of the women. They were patient, understanding, and genuinely wanted this event to succeed. We could feel that support and help they wanted to give us, and it meant everything.

The Competition Heats Up 🔥

The tournament was full of movement on the leaderboard, with side action, raffles, apparel sales, and a $5,000 first-place prize up for grabs! The atmosphere was competitive but fun, and the scores were tight — with just a 1-pin difference between 5th and 6th place.

We had an epic step ladder finish:

-Kaylee McCleery climbed from 4th all the way to 2nd!

-She first faced lefty Allison Johnson, edging her out by just 15 pins.

-Next, she took on Amanda Price, the two-time defending Oklahoma Queens champion — and Kaylee stayed hot, taking that match, too.

-Her next challenge was Sierra Ciesiolka, a Wichita alum who had been steady all day, qualifying just 26 pins behind Stefanie Johnson, a five-time PWBA title holder.

Kaylee bowled lights out, firing a 247 scratch game to advance to the final match against Stefanie.

The Finals 💥

The championship match was intense. The back ends had tightened up, making carry tricky for both bowlers. Stefanie stepped up in the tenth with a chance to shut Kaylee out — she left a makeable split, spared it perfectly, and then threw a strike to win.

Kaylee’s run up the ladder was incredible — pure heart and talent — and Stefanie showed why she’s a 5 Time PWBA Title Holder, staying composed and clutching the win when it mattered most.

A Milestone for Women’s Bowling 💖

This tournament was more than just an event — it was a milestone for women’s bowling. It showed that we can create competitive, accessible tournaments that don’t require outrageous travel or time commitments — and still give everyone a fair shot at success.

To say we’re proud is an understatement. Of both our selves and the women who came. The day couldn’t have gone any better, and we’re already excited to keep growing from here. As women bowlers, we deserve to have these events. The next one is already in the works!

Here’s to more events, more opportunities, and more women lifting each other up in this sport we love. 🩷

love you baddies, xx
