I’m Entering My First PWBA Tour Stop! 🎳💖
Hey guys!!
So I’m sure most of you already know about the first PWBA Tour stop in Topeka, May 8–10 — but if you don’t, head down to the tournament section of my website page or just go to this link https://pwba.com/national-tour/pwba-topeka-open
I’m actually really lucky because this stop is only about 1.5 hours away from me… so guess what? I’m gonna give it a go. 😳
It’s always been a dream of mine to compete on the PWBA Tour, but for years, I’ve talked myself out of it.
“I’m not ready.”
“Give it another year.”
“What if it’s a waste of money?”
“I haven’t even bowled a regional yet.”
But then I stopped and asked myself:
Will I ever actually feel ready?
And the answer is… probably not.
So why not just go for it?
We always wait for the perfect time, the perfect moment, or the perfect level of preparation — but sometimes you just have to take the leap. I’ve been putting it off because deep down, I’ve struggled with feeling like I belong out there. It’s a bit scary to even picture it.
What if I make a fool of myself?
What if I forget something important — like the right jersey — and can’t even bowl?
(Honestly, have you seen the list of rules? Who has time to read all that! 😅)
But then I remind myself:
Be ready. Be prepared. No one else can do this for you.
Not your mum, not your boyfriend — you.
You have to be the one to choose you. Choose the mindset that’ll take you where you want to go.
Let’s break it down:
-Have I bowled a regional? Nope — wish I had.
-Have I bowled in college? Yes.
-Have I represented my country? Yes.
-Have I competed against a bunch of the women on tour? Actually… yes!
So why am I doubting myself?
It’s time to get my feet wet.
This time, it’s not money or time holding me back. It’s my own mind. Crazy, right? How our biggest battle can sometimes be our own thoughts. And bowling — especially at the elite level — is such a mental game. Once you’ve trained your body, it’s all about mindset. I know PBA guys who have mental coaches — and honestly, I wish I had one too!
So here we are — first stop: the PTQ. From what I’ve seen, there are over 30 bowlers signed up who aren’t exempt, and I believe only the top 10 advance to the main event.
So before I even dream about competing in the official tour stop… I have to get through that.
If you’ve got advice for how I should prep — please message me on Instagram @bowlingbaddiesclub! I’m going to share everyone's advice on my blog. I’d LOVE to hear your thoughts and support 💌
Let’s go make this dream real.
Love you all so much —
xxx
