🌸 Bowling Baddie of the Month: Alena McDugle 🌸

We are SO excited to announce our Bowling Baddie of the Month, Alena McDugle! 🎳💗

Alena is a Bowling Baddies Club ambassador and a talented athlete who has competed throughout high school and college. But her love for bowling started long before that. Growing up in Washington, Alena's family began taking her to the bowling alley when she was just 3 years old. By 7, she was already bowling in her first youth league and receiving coaching from her uncle. At just 12 years old, she entered her first tournament, and from there, her love for competition and the sport continued to grow.

For Alena, bowling quickly became more than just a sport. It became a place where she made lifelong memories, friendships, and connections with people she now considers family. And clearly, all those years of hard work paid off!

During her high school career at Thomas Jefferson High School, Alena was placed in the anchor position her freshman year and never moved. Her varsity team went undefeated, winning districts, setting a new championship record, and finishing with a victory of more than 1,000 pins!

She then took that experience into college bowling at Wichita State University, where she had an incredible freshman year. Alena helped her team win Nationals in Arlington, Texas, and finish 2nd at the NCAA Final Four Nationals tournament. What a way to start a college career!

Alena's goals don't stop there. She hopes to continue competing at the highest level and eventually make her way onto the PWBA Tour. We love hearing that and can't wait to see where her bowling journey takes her! 👑

When we asked Alena who has inspired her throughout her journey, she immediately mentioned her high school coach, Joseph Townsend. She shared:

“He has always pushed me to be my absolute best self, whether that's as a bowler or a person off the lanes. With his constant support and knowledge, he always made it known that not only did he want me to achieve all of my goals, but he'd always be my biggest supporter. I would not be where I am today if it weren't for Coach Joe.”

We absolutely love stories like this because they remind us that coaches can have such a lasting impact on an athlete's life. A great coach doesn't just help you become a better bowler — they can help shape the person you become away from the lanes, too. ❤️

We also asked Alena what she loves about the Bowling Baddies Club, and her answer meant so much to us:

“The community is so full of positivity, love, happiness, and support. Everyone is each other's cheerleaders, and I absolutely love watching everyone grow + doing what they love!”

THIS is exactly what Bowling Baddies Club is about. 💗

We want to celebrate women bowlers, cheer each other on, recognize accomplishments, and create more opportunities for women to compete. That's why our women's-only tournaments are such an important part of what we do. This October marks one year of Bowling Baddies Club women's tournaments, and we are celebrating with our Baddie Open in Oklahoma on October 11th! 🎳👑

And this is only the beginning.
